Why when a woman has postnatal depression does she deserve support?

Ive suffered from pre natal and post natal depression and its horrible. I don't know of a man that's had it but i know it can happen and the way he is being treated if terrible. I think that both men and woman should be informed about this problem and how to recognize it and deal with it for both es. Its terrible that if he cut off his arm he would get treatment without question but with depression, particularly with men it is so often pushed aside. I really hope than you an get help from someone and you both get through this hard time.Keep pushing and seeing as many people as you can until you get the help and answerer's that you deserve.
