Are walmart skateboards bad if only used for transportation, cruising from point A to point B?

im a low level skater but im not really about doing tricks. i got a decent ollie tho. i hear alot trash about walmart boards and im concerned if they'll be a problem if im just cruising from here to there, from one side of campus to another. i hope not cuz i prefer kickin and pushin over walkin any day
