I just got a 10' kicker L7 and i keep smelling a weird smell comming from the sub is this normal?

i got a kicker 10' L7 and a kicker 750.1 mono cl D amp pushing it. it's bran new and i've noticed that there's a weird smell coming from the sub i can't tell if the amp is burning the VC's or if the sub's just being brokin in, i wouldn't think that it's the VC's b/c the gain on the amp isn't even half way up. Someone please help me i'm not trying to blow my ****
