What was the main reason that led the ins to kill julius caesar?

I'm trying to do an essay on the ination of Julius Caesar. The real version, not out of the book by Shakespeare. I was reading the 12 Caesar book but I can't seem to find the main reason, the first reason that set off everyone and started planning the killing. what is the main reason??
