Was Milosevic the first christian leader to fight international islamic terrorism, before Bush?

What was the proportion of international islamic fighters among the ethnic albanians (KLA) fighting serbs? I am french and I know that many muslims from France came to Bosnia and Kosovo to fight against serbs. Now, many muslims from France went to Irak through Syria to explode themself among muslim irakis.
