Just a few sentences...Are the correct?

I try to get along with everyone even if I do not like their actions. A few weeks after the move in date my new roommate began doing and saying things to me that I felt were disrespectful. I prayed that I would not allow my emotions to overtake me. One night she decided to share her opinions about me out loud. I was deeply saddened by this. I decided that I was bigger than her, so I left the situation alone. My roommate ended up having to be removed from our room due to academic probation. I was not happy, but I was relieved.
